About
About On Radar
An AI-powered news intelligence platform built for people who want to stay genuinely informed — without drowning in clickbait, paywalls, or algorithmic bubbles.
How it works
01
Aggregate
Every few minutes we pull from hundreds of trusted RSS sources — from Reuters and Nature to niche technology blogs and preprint servers.
02
Analyse
Each article is processed for topic, novelty, and significance using NLP models and editorial heuristics. Stories are ranked by importance, not clicks.
03
Deliver
AI-generated summaries help you scan dozens of stories in seconds. The original source is always one click away — we lead you to journalism, not away from it.
What makes us different
No dark patterns
No outrage bait, no infinite scroll tricks, no notification spam engineered to spike anxiety.
Fully transparent
Inspect our sources, methodology, and editorial policy anytime. AI summaries are always labelled.
Privacy-first
No ad trackers, no data brokers. Your reading habits are not our product — the news is.
Independent
Not owned by a conglomerate, not funded by political interests. Editorial decisions serve readers, not revenue.
Who's behind this
The founder
On Radar was founded by a seasoned technologist with over 30 years of experience in engineering, product development, and scaling products from concept to launch. His career spans four continents — from Johannesburg and Zurich to London and New York City — building and shipping products across diverse markets and industries.
He was instrumental in establishing a Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Chennai for a leading AdTech company, bringing world-class engineering capability closer to home.
After decades of watching the news industry prioritise clicks over clarity, he decided to channel that experience into something that serves readers, not advertisers. On Radar is his answer — an independent, AI-powered platform built with the same rigour he's brought to enterprise products, but with a mission that's personal: make it easier for people to stay informed without being manipulated.

Open & independent
Built in the open
On Radar is a small, independent project — not backed by venture capital or ad dollars. We ship fast, iterate in public, and listen closely to our readers. If you have ideas, spot a bug, or want to contribute, we'd love to hear from you.
